Description

This photograph depicts the rescue of 83 year old Mrs. Myrtle Grubb from her porch on the south side of Princeton, IN by Gibson County sheriff's deputy Nick Michas. Torrential rains brought 8.9 inches of rain to Princeton over a 48 hour period, and 14.9 inches to English and Marengo, other small southern Indiana towns, causing rapid flooding. Up to 11 counties were considered disaster areas.
