Friends or relatives (man and woman, sitting on chaise lounge) of Gus Grissom. (NOTE: Same man at MSS 228-2145.) Virgil Ivan ""Gus"" Grissom was born in 1926 and on July 21, 1961, was the 2nd man in space. He was killed with 2 others on February 23, 1967 on the launch pad in a pre-launch test of Apollo 1. He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
