Chrysler Corporation's parking lot--assembly plant at 1625 N. Garvin St., body plant at 820 E. Columbia St. The Graham Brothers Truck Company opened in 1919, was purchased by Dodge in 1925, and then by Chrysler in 1928. It closed circa 1959. During WWII, this Chrysler plant manufactured 96% of the military's .45 caliber ammunition. The contract to do was signed February 18, 1942, and refitting the automobile assembly plant to an arsenal began immediately, with the first bullets produced test fired June 30, 1942.
