Description

A flash flood, with nearly 3.5 inches of rain the evening of April 27, 1970, caused flooding in several areas in the city, including the U.S. Hwy. 41-Hwy. 57 area, pictured here. It was estimated that Pigeon Creek rose 20 feet overnight. In the background here is a hanger and the terminal for Dress Memorial Airport.
