Dr. John Fouchee Fauntleroy (1809-1884). He received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and practiced in Clark County, VA. He served as a surgeon with the Confederate army during the Civil War, and was captured at Vicksburg. After being paroled and exchanged, he served at a hospital in Danville, VA until he resigned from the Confederate Army in 1865. After being paroled by the U.S. Army that same year, he practice medicine in Leesburg, Loudoun County, VA until his death.
