Description

In 1964 then Senator Hubert Humphrey was in Evansville as the vice-presidential nominee on the ticket with Lyndon B. Johnson for president. A portion of this photograph appeared in the September 24, 1964 edition of the Evansville Courier with this caption:""He mops his brow later in the afternoon as he boards his plane for Terre Haute, Ind. and another round in his campaigning. Senator R. Vance Hartke (D.-Ind.) beams broadly on the left." Also in this photograph (although cropped out in the newspaper) is Indiana 9th district Congressman Lee Hamilton.
