Description

Flooded street, location unidentified. Heavy storms upstream, combined with 10 inches of rain locally over a weekend caused the Ohio River to finally crest at 2.5 ft. over flood stage, which caused water to also flood along the river's tributary, Pigeon Creek. Pigeon Creek winds through the city and a portion of it is near this location. The May 10, 1961 edition of the Evansville Press contains a good account of this flooding.
