Description

A 3-alarm fire destroyed the Luggage Shop fire at 423 Main St. on a Sunday morning. In all, 140 firefighters, 8 pumper trucks, and 3 snorkel trucks labored for about 3.5 hours to put out the fire that had started on the 3rd floor. The fire was attributed to a malfunctioning gas line that caused the boiler to overheat. No one was injured. Here firefighters approach the fire from the alley that runs alongside the block where the fire was. Across the street is Old National Bank at 420 Main St.
