Description
The size of the fire meant that extra units responded. Here, the Mt. Carmel, IL Fire Department is on the scene. The plastic buckets contain Flame-Out, presumably a fire retardant. A 420,000 gallon tank containing diesel fuel, naphtha, and kerosene exploded at Princeton Refinery, Inc., resulting in a fire fought by units from 12 different fire districts; it was finally extinguished with the aid of a tower and foam unit from the Texaco refinery in Lawrenceville, IL.
