Description

A flash flood, with nearly 3.5 inches of rain the evening of April 27, 1970, caused flooding in several areas in the city, including the U.S. Hwy. 41-Hwy. 57 area, pictured here. It was estimated that Pigeon Creek rose 20 feet overnight. Here are signs for businesses near the airport, with U.S. Hwy. 41 North to the right. None of the businesses picured here could be verified in the 1968, 1970, or 1972 city directories.
