Description

Evansville's 17th Rifle Co. Marine Reserves attended summer training at Hawthorne Naval Ammunition Depot (now called Hawthorne Army Depot). With over 147,000 acres/226 square miles, it is the world's largest depot and a frequent site for desert training. Here is a location soldiers may have enjoyed on leave, possibly in Virginia City, NV.
