Ninety seconds after take-off the plane crashed, killing 29, including the basketball team, head coach, 3 student managers, athletic business manager, UE comptroller, sports information director, a popular radio announcer, and 2 fans. The site of the crash was a hilly area, with few access roads, but there was a train track nearby. A railroad car was brought to the site, and the victims were transported to a temporary morgue at the C.K.
