Autrieth House: This house is located at 605 Tavern Street and was constructed in 1855. The house was the site of several unique occurrences, including this stop from the 1896 Presidential Campaign of William McKinley and Garret Hobart, twenty-fifth president of the United States from 1897 - 1901. Interestingly, New Harmony had also played host to the Benjamin Harrison and Levi Morton Presidential Campaign a decade earlier in 1888, Harrison was also elected President.
