Description

Continental Emsco Company: This building was located on the plat just west of 723 E. Church Street and was dismantled to accommodate the Golden House which was later moved onto this plat. The Continental Emsco Company was incorporated June 4, 1946 in the state of Texas, and dissolution of the company occurred January 31, 1984. The company was in the business of drilling oil walls and trusses from the south end of the building. Note the old New Harmony water tower and remodel of part of the old For and McGregor Electric Light Company, which became the new firehouse, in the background across Tavern Street.
