Description
Schnee House: This photo is of the second Schnee home located at 603 West Street and was constructed in 1876. The first Schnee home was constructed during the Rappite occupation of the town, the Schnee brothers having moved to the town from the Quaker colony in Pennsylvania, and that house was located at 517 Tavern Street. The Gypsy Girl Livery Stable was later constructed behind that home. This photo shows the newly completed wooden porch and the decorative corbels that were installed. The elderly lady standing on the porch is most likely the house's owner at the time the photo was taken.
