Back plats: This is a photo of the plats behind the buildings on the northwest corner of Town Block 5 E. The photo faces north toward Church Street. The Old New Harmony Train Depot can be seen on the far left side, where it had been moved to from Third Street and was again moved to 801 North Street. This plat was also the site of the Old Community House Dorm #3, which was converted to a hotel after Owen and Maclure purchased the town in 1824. This building was still listed on the 1943 updated Sanborn Fire Insurance Map, although it was listed as being vacant. The American Legion Post #370 can be seen across Church Street.
