Kemmerling House/1850s Doctor's Office: The Kemmerling House was relocated from town Block 4 J/SE to the new location at 611 Church Street, beside the Beal House. The Kemmerling House was remodeled into the 1850s Doctor's Office, a gift to the town of New Harmony from Mead Johnson. The Kemmerlings were listed in the 1882 Posey County Directory (as Kimmerlin) as being New Harmony Township farmers. Elmer Buchta Moving Engineers was contracted for this and many other building moves during the 1970s. This is a photo of the examination chair which sat in the center of the exam room. The Doctor's desk can be seen in the corner near the center of the photo.
