Description

Transparencies and Negatives Collection: Historic photographs. Husband House: This house is located on the southwest corner of Church and East Streets. Town Block 4 G held a collection of barns during the 1820s through the 1840s. By the time the 1858 Fretageot Map was made the plats on this block had been divided and Hugo was the listed owner of plat 65, which is where the Husband House was built. By 1869 the plat is labeled as belonging to George Husband from which the house took the name. The house still exists as of 2022. This photo shows the east side of the house where two women are standing near the back porch.
