Transparencies and Negatives Collection: Historic photographs. This is a photo of Armstrong�s Place Saloon located on the southeast corner of Main and Church. Charles Armstrong was born in 1866, to Francis or �Frank� Armstrong and Sarah Johnson. Charles lived on Granary Street, probably in the house and plat which his father Frank owned on the 1869 Plat Map, located at 403 East Street. The saloon must have been established between 1899 and 1907. By 1920 the New Harmony Bank and Trust Company was located in this building, which had been heavily remodeled for the purpose.
