Kemmerling House/1850s Doctor's Office: The Kemmerling House was relocated from town Block 4 J/SE to the new location at 611 Church Street, beside the Beal House. The Kemmerling House was remodeled into the 1850s Doctor's Office, a gift to the town of New Harmony from Mead Johnson. The Kemmerlings were listed in the 1882 Posey County Directory (as Kimmerlin) as being New Harmony Township farmers. Elmer Buchta Moving Engineers was contracted for this and many other building moves during the 1970s. This photo was taken in the back of the Beal House and Kemmerling House/1850s Doctor's Office facing west. The Beal House's exposed timber frame wall can be seen on the right. On the left in the background, across Brewery Street, is The Mews building.
