Continental Emsco Company: This building was located on the plat just west of 723 E. Church Street and was dismantled to accommodate the Golden House which was later moved onto this plat. The Continental Emsco Company was incorporated June 4, 1946 in the state of Texas, and dissolution of the company occurred January 31, 1984. The company was in the business of drilling oil wells. This photo was taken from the southwest corner of the now empty plat. Muensterman's Auto Parts store can be seen in the background, on the left side, across Tavern Street.
