Description

New Harmony Bank and Trust Company: Located at 502 Main Street on the southeast corner of Main and Church. The bank opened its doors on September 2, 1920 and closed for good on January 1, 1975. The building was remodeled from the earlier brick building which had been constructed before 1888 (UA58 7514). The building started as E. F. Owen and Company's Store, the grocery side, became Armstrong's Place saloon by 1907 and finally was remodeled as the bank. This photo shows painters working on a mural along one of the walls.
