Description

Butcher Shop: This small building is located just north of the brick house at 611 Main Street and just south of the Ribeyre Gymnasium complex. This is the interior of this small butcher shop, one of many available in New Harmony during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The shop had been in this location since at least 1888 but was gone by 1907. In this photo The butcher, possibly William G Myers, and an assistant are filling a patron's, the man at the counter, needs. Hogs can be seen on the racks on the right side of the photo.
