The Jaquess House: This is a photo of the Jaquess House, from which the parlor was taken, was moved from somewhere near Poseyville. It was then taken through a field to near the edge of a highway where it was dismantled. The parlor was then incorporated into the Owen House on the corner of Tavern and Brewery Streets in town block 6 E east. In this photo the house is at the location where is was dismantled. This is one of the walls showing the original studs. The house was moved by Elmer Buchta moving engineers, a company that did most if not all of the moving in New Harmony at this time.
