Transparencies and Negatives Collection: Historic photographs. This is a photo of the James Elliott Farm. This property has a history which pre-dates the Harmonist Settlement era by a few years. James Elliot built the present house in 1826, after immigrating from Britain and joining the Owen Community, he also became the community brewer. His brother John Elliott also had a farm which was three miles south of New Harmony from Main Street.
