Description

The Jaquess House: The Jaquess House was a small structure which stood in Posey County, somewhere near Poseyville. The parlor from this house was removed and relocated to become part of the 1830 Owen House in New Harmony. This is a photo of the Jaquess House, as it was before being dismantled, from which the parlor was taken, was moved from somewhere near Poseyville. It was then taken through a field to near the edge of Highway 66 where it was dismantled. The parlor was then incorporated into the Owen House on the corner of Tavern and Brewery Streets in town block 6 E east.
