Transparencies and Negatives Collection: Historic photographs. William Ford Tobacco and Grain Warehouse: This building may have been one of three very early structures which were built with the same orientation along South Street toward the east. Town Block 8 E was initially a part of the old Tannery but by 1848 the block had been divided into smaller plats. The map from this period (UA58 10912) shows there is a build on this location, one of three, and on the latter Sanborn Maps it is the only one left, labeled as William Fords Tobacco and Grain Warehouse. The building was demolished in 1923, after which a filling station was constructed on this plat.
