Bauer House: This house was originally located on the north side of North Street in town block 2 C/E. It was moved to the new location at 518 First Street before construction on the Atheneum had begun. Elmer Buchta Moving Engineers was contracted for this and many other building moves during the 1970s. This photo shows the house being pulled east on Church Street. The pink building on the right side of the street would later become the site of the New Harmony Town Hall. The white building on the right is the American Legion Post 370. The buildings on the left side are the present site (2021) of the Yellow Tavern.
