Transparencies and Negatives Collection: Historic photographs. This is a photo of the John Elliott farm was three miles south of New Harmony from Main Street and was demolished in 1959. His brother James Elliott also had a farm whose property has a history which pre-dates the Harmonist Settlement era by a few years. James Elliot built the present house in 1826, after immigrating from Britain and joining the Owen Community, he also became the community brewer. This farm is on the outskirts of New Harmony on east Church Street.
