The Dedication ceremony was attended by Mrs. Jane Blaffer Owen, Reverend Dr. George MacLeod, and Reverend Dr. Elton Trueblood who was a noted Quaker author and theologian. The MacLeod Barn Abbey was inspired by the Reverend George MacLeod, a famous leader of the Iona Community in Scotland. After meeting with MacLeod, Mrs. Jane Blaffer Owen returned to New Harmony to begin a similar Christian movement in the United States. She created the Barn Abbey to provide this movement with an interdenominational Christian Center. The MacLeod Barn Abbey is located at 810 and is owned and operated by the Robert Lee Blaffer Foundation. 001549815 542__ $$fhttp://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC-NC/1.0/ 001549815 6531_ $$aBinder 01 001549815 6531_ $$aTown Map 1G 001549815 6531_ $$aCommunal Studies 001549815 6531_ $$aPhotographs 001549815 6531_ $$aRegional History 001549815 6531_ $$aRelated Materials -- 1951-2000 001549815 655__ $$aColor Slide 001549815 691__ $$aIndiana 001549815 7001_ $$aHistoric New Harmony 001549815 8564_ $$90d9994ed-05ab-4729-a873-31ea3830819f$$s2478244$$uhttps://library.usi.edu/record/1549815/files/245.jp2 001549815 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1549815$$pGLOBAL_SET 001549815 914__ $$ap17218coll9 001549815 980__ $$aHistoric New Harmony Slide Collection 001549815 984__ $$aHistoric New Harmony Slide Collection 001549815 985__ $$aImage
