The Kemmerling House was remodeled into the 1850s Doctor's Office, a gift to the town of New Harmony from Mead Johnson. The Kemmerlings were listed in the 1882 Posey County Directory (as Kimmerlin) as being New Harmony Township farmers. Elmer Buchta Moving Engineers was contracted for this and many other building moves during the 1970s. This photo shows the pharmacy counter in the 1850s Doctor's Office. Note the shelves full of nineteenth century pharmaceutical chemicals and the row of mortar and pestles on the bottom shelf and the medicine scale on the counter in the foreground. 001549873 542__ $$fhttp://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC-NC/1.0/ 001549873 6531_ $$aBinder 18 001549873 6531_ $$aTown Map 5F 001549873 6531_ $$aCommunal Studies 001549873 6531_ $$aPhotographs 001549873 6531_ $$aRegional History 001549873 6531_ $$aRelated Materials -- 1951-2000 001549873 655__ $$aColor Slide 001549873 691__ $$aIndiana 001549873 7001_ $$aHistoric New Harmony 001549873 8564_ $$95a48f781-60e9-4571-a832-1ca98edc0129$$s3037793$$uhttps://library.usi.edu/record/1549873/files/5178.jp2 001549873 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1549873$$pGLOBAL_SET 001549873 914__ $$ap17218coll9 001549873 980__ $$aHistoric New Harmony Slide Collection 001549873 984__ $$aHistoric New Harmony Slide Collection 001549873 985__ $$aImage
