Description
Golden House: This building was moved from the plat of 807 Church, what is now 811 Church Street, to one plat west of 723 E. Church Street but has since been demolished, most likely when the house at 707 E. Church was built in 2009. Elmer Buchta Moving Engineers was contracted for this and many other building moves during the 1970s. This photo shows the northwest corner of the house, taken from Church Street, during the remodel. On the far left of the photo is the house at 717 Church and the old town water tower can be seen in the background just above the house. The building just behind the house, once part of the Ford and McGregor Electric Light Plant, would eventually be remodeled into the new firehouse.
