Bauer House: This house was originally located on the north side of North Street in town block 2 C/E. It was moved to the new location at 518 First Street before construction on the Atheneum had begun. Elmer Buchta Moving Engineers was contracted for this and many other building moves during the 1970s. In this photo the house is on Church Street headed east. The house is directly in front of Thrall's Opera House, a historic structure completed in 1824. On the left side of the photo is the site where the Beal House was relocated to. The Texaco gas station later became a Marathon gas station.
