The dedication ceremony at the MacLeod Barn Abbey. The Dedication ceremony was attended by Mrs. Jane Blaffer Owen, Reverend Dr. George MacLeod, and Reverend Dr. Elton Trueblood who was a noted Quaker author and theologian. The MacLeod Barn Abbey was inspired by the Reverend George MacLeod, a famous leader of the Iona Community in Scotland. After meeting with MacLeod, Mrs. Jane Blaffer Owen returned to New Harmony to begin a similar Christian movement in the United States. She created the Barn Abbey to provide this movement with an interdenominational Christian Center. The MacLeod Barn Abbey is located at 810 and is owned and operated by the Robert Lee Blaffer Foundation.
