Transparencies and Negatives Collection: Historic photographs. This is a photo of the E. F. Owen and Company Store, which was located on the southeast corner of Main and Church. This grocery store had been at this location since before 1888 and had persisted until sometime in the late 1890s. This plat belonged to Owen and Company on the 1869 Plat Map and the other side of this building did indeed house a hardware and agricultural implements store. In all probability, this was the location of E. F. Owen and Company. By the mid to late 1890�s the Owen grocery store had been replaced with a clothing store, which only lasted a short time and was in turn replaced by Armstrong�s Place Saloon by 1907 at the latest. In 1920 the building on the left had been replaced with the New Harmony Bank which is still present in 2022.
