Description

Golden House: This building was moved from the plat of 807 Church, what is now 811 Church Street, to one plat west of 723 E. Church Street but has since been demolished, most likely when the house at 707 E. Church was built in 2009. Elmer Buchta Moving Engineers was contracted for this and many other building moves during the 1970s. This photo was taken from the plat just west of the Golden House. This plat once had a car sales business constructed on it but which was demolished for the Golden House move. The brick house on the left side of the photo, across Church Street, is located at 704 Church and is a historic house constructed in 1835. The small yellow house in the middle is 712 Church and is still present in 2021. The house on the far right, barely visible in the photo, was at some point demolished or moved.
