Schplatter of Evansville, Indiana was the architect of this house. The house was built for Louis Wade Wilson who lived there with his wife Louanna French and their daughter Cecil Pearl (and eventually her husband Edwin Boyer). His father, John Wilson, lived next door just east of his own home at 805 Church Street and his brother, Doctor Thomas Wilson, lived one plat west of his home at 729 Church. Louis Wade Wilson was an insurance agent based in the town.
