The Beal house was constructed around 1829 by John Beal, who was a carpenter in the Owen and Maclure community. Beal constructed the house from lumber and timbers from an older horse barn. The new location would be the site of the Beal House and 1850s Doctor's Office (The Doctor's Office was a remodel of the Kemmerling House, which was also moved to this site). Elmer Buchta Moving Engineers was contracted for this and many other building moves during the 1970s. This photo shows an inside timber frame wall filled in with ""Dutch biscuits"". 001551869 542__ $$fhttp://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC-NC/1.0/ 001551869 6531_ $$aBinder 18 001551869 6531_ $$aTown Map 5F/NW 001551869 6531_ $$aCommunal Studies 001551869 6531_ $$aPhotographs 001551869 6531_ $$aRegional History 001551869 6531_ $$aRelated Materials -- 1951-2000 001551869 655__ $$aColor Slide 001551869 691__ $$aIndiana 001551869 7001_ $$aHistoric New Harmony 001551869 8564_ $$9a600de18-ca3a-42d0-b38d-83b1f68c5bd4$$s2963159$$uhttps://library.usi.edu/record/1551869/files/5480.jp2 001551869 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1551869$$pGLOBAL_SET 001551869 914__ $$ap17218coll9 001551869 980__ $$aHistoric New Harmony Slide Collection 001551869 984__ $$aHistoric New Harmony Slide Collection 001551869 985__ $$aImage
