The Dedication ceremony was attended by Mrs. Jane Blaffer Owen, Reverend Dr. George MacLeod, and Reverend Dr. Elton Trueblood who was a noted Quaker author and theologian. The MacLeod Barn Abbey was inspired by the Reverend George MacLeod, a famous leader of the Iona Community in Scotland. After meeting with MacLeod, Mrs. Jane Blaffer Owen returned to New Harmony to begin a similar Christian movement in the United States. She created the Barn Abbey to provide this movement with an interdenominational Christian Center. The MacLeod Barn Abbey is located at 810 and is owned and operated by the Robert Lee Blaffer Foundation. 001551874 542__ $$fhttp://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC-NC/1.0/ 001551874 6531_ $$aBinder 01 001551874 6531_ $$aTown Map 1G 001551874 6531_ $$aCommunal Studies 001551874 6531_ $$aPhotographs 001551874 6531_ $$aRegional History 001551874 6531_ $$aRelated Materials -- 1951-2000 001551874 655__ $$aColor Slide 001551874 691__ $$aIndiana 001551874 7001_ $$aHistoric New Harmony 001551874 8564_ $$90f1db823-feba-4936-bf02-dfaacc5a2690$$s5016405$$uhttps://library.usi.edu/record/1551874/files/1077.jp2 001551874 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1551874$$pGLOBAL_SET 001551874 914__ $$ap17218coll9 001551874 980__ $$aHistoric New Harmony Slide Collection 001551874 984__ $$aHistoric New Harmony Slide Collection 001551874 985__ $$aImage
