Kemmerling House: The Kemmerling House was relocated from town Block 4 J/SE to the new location at 611 Church Street, beside the Beal House. The Kemmerling House was remodeled into the 1850s Doctor's Office, a gift to the town of New Harmony from Mead Johnson. The Kemmerlings were listed in the 1882 Posey County Directory (as Kimmerlin) as being New Harmony Township farmers. Elmer Buchta Moving Engineers was contracted for this and many other building moves during the 1970s. This photo shows the house completely stripped down to the timber framing, the windows being stored on the second floor. The Mews can be seen through the frame on the left side of the photo. On the right side of the photo the Post Office can be seen through the timber frame.
