The Beal house was constructed around 1829 by John Beal, who was a carpenter in the Owen and Maclure community. Beal constructed the house from lumber and timbers from an older horse barn. The new location would be the site of the Beal House and 1850s Doctor's Office (The Doctor's Office was a remodel of the Kemmerling House, which was also moved to this site). Elmer Buchta Moving Engineers was contracted for this and many other building moves during the 1970s. This is a photo of the exposed timber walls, from inside, showing the ""Dutch biscuits"" which filled them. 001552383 542__ $$fhttp://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC-NC/1.0/ 001552383 6531_ $$aBinder 18 001552383 6531_ $$aTown Map 5F/NW 001552383 6531_ $$aCommunal Studies 001552383 6531_ $$aPhotographs 001552383 6531_ $$aRegional History 001552383 6531_ $$aRelated Materials -- n.d. 001552383 655__ $$aColor Slide 001552383 691__ $$aIndiana 001552383 7001_ $$aHistoric New Harmony 001552383 8564_ $$94dbe2b49-25a9-4766-bda8-a8400389ad89$$s3368636$$uhttps://library.usi.edu/record/1552383/files/5680.jp2 001552383 8564_ $$9ae1a4f7a-8b38-41e4-92bd-863e656ed11e$$s1123216$$uhttps://library.usi.edu/record/1552383/files/5680.jpg 001552383 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1552383$$pGLOBAL_SET 001552383 914__ $$ap17218coll9 001552383 980__ $$aHistoric New Harmony Slide Collection 001552383 984__ $$aHistoric New Harmony Slide Collection 001552383 985__ $$aImage
