F. W. Lichtenberger and Sons Store: The original store was located at 518 Main Street (UA58 7502) it later incorporated 520 Main also (UA58 7509 last two buildings on the far right), on the northeast corner of Tavern and Main. The brick building has been there since at least 1888 since it is shown on the Sanborn Map at that time. F(redrick). W. Lichtenberger and Sons are listed in the 1882 Posey County History and Directory as dealers in dry goods and furniture. One of the sons, William, was a tinsmith and operated a shop at the back of the building at 520 Main. The building had a third story built on to it at some point after 1900 but before 1907 when the Free Masons added their hall above it. During the 1970s, the building became the site of Sass and Posss tavern, the sign of which is still on the building today. Today (2021), it is the site of Samuels Place tavern. 001552473 542__ $$fhttp://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC-NC/1.0/ 001552473 6531_ $$aBinder 33 001552473 6531_ $$aTown Map 5E/SW 001552473 6531_ $$aCommunal Studies 001552473 6531_ $$aPhotographs 001552473 6531_ $$aRegional History 001552473 6531_ $$aRelated Materials -- n.d. 001552473 655__ $$aColor Slide 001552473 691__ $$aIndiana 001552473 7001_ $$aHistoric New Harmony 001552473 8564_ $$953bd9457-2963-44f8-b9f2-61ffc8e73da7$$s957259$$uhttps://library.usi.edu/record/1552473/files/8160.jpg 001552473 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1552473$$pGLOBAL_SET 001552473 914__ $$ap17218coll9 001552473 980__ $$aHistoric New Harmony Slide Collection 001552473 984__ $$aHistoric New Harmony Slide Collection 001552473 985__ $$aImage
