FLANDERS Electric Inc. manufactures and repairs large AC and DC motors. FLANDERS only has one test center which has bottle necked their testing operation. They are currently in the process of building a new test center in order to test motors more efficiently and increase their output of both AC and DC motors. The center will have the capability to test both types. The goals of this project are: 1) Design the layout and material handling system of the new test center, 2) Develop a staffing structure and a process improvement plan for the new test center, and 3) Design a barcode scanningbased data collection system to display, in real time, the status of the jobs being processed at the test center.
