Abstract
Grain entrapment is a danger that all grain processors face. A grain entrapment or engulfment happens when someone falls into any type of bulk grain holding container and begins to be pulled into the grain until they lose the ability to free themselves. Entrapment is followed by a multitude of life-ending dangers such as suffocation, asphyxiation, being crushed, heat stroke, and hypothermia. In the last eighty years, the technology surrounding grain entrapment rescue has come a long way, but there is still a great amount of improvement needed. With this project, I am going to create a grain entrapment that incorporates elements of previous grain entrapment rescue devices but also utilizes a never-used method of a fluidized bed in the hope of creating a grain entrapment rescue device that will not only outperform all previous rescue devices but also create a greater chance of survival when a grain entrapment happens.
