Abstract

This project focuses on developing an advanced thermal imaging deer camera with AI detection capabilities to enhance wildlife monitoring and research. The system utilizes AI to detect whether a deer is in view while leveraging a thermal imager to confirm the presence of a heat source. Additionally, a LiDAR sensor detects motion and directs the camera’s motor to turn toward the deer based on the LiDAR’s detection point. The camera is designed to detect deer from a minimum distance of 25 feet and accurately track them with 360-degree rotation. By integrating AI, thermal imaging, and LiDAR technology, this project provides a valuable tool for researchers, conservationists, and hunters, offering precise tracking and behavioral insights.
