Abstract
The Career Self-Discovery Assessment was developed to assist students in exploring their individual strengths, interests, and values, and connecting them to potential academic and career pathways. Designed for use in career development and exploration undergraduate courses, the assessment encourages deep self-reflection and strategic decision-making, empowering students to align their educational pursuits with long-term career goals.
Developed using generative AI (ChatGPT) and grounded in Jungian personality theory and career development psychology, the assessment provides a structured, guided format with an encouraging and student-centered tone. It helps students articulate their skills and aspirations, making it particularly adaptable for diverse student populations, including traditional, non-traditional, and adult learners.
The tool supports institutional initiatives aimed at enhancing career readiness and student success, offering a practical, research-informed resource for academic and career advisors. By promoting self-awareness and goal setting, the Career Self-Discovery Assessment contributes to a more intentional and informed career planning process for students.
