The present study pursues this question in light of Kant's rising importance for the humanities, arguing not only that Kleist was influenced by Kant, but also that he may be understood as a Kantian. It approaches Kleist not only as a writer, but also as a thinker, albeit one who conveys his thought through the locutions of fiction and the essay. Kleist thus becomes visible for the first time as an original contributor to post-Kantian thought. 000452969 588__ $$aDescription based on print version record. 000452969 60010 $$aKleist, Heinrich von,$$d1777-1811$$xPhilosophy. 000452969 60010 $$aKant, Immanuel,$$d1724-1804$$xInfluence. 000452969 650_0 $$aSelf-consciousness (Awareness) in literature. 000452969 655_0 $$aElectronic books. 000452969 77608 $$iPrint verson:$$aMehigan, Timothy J.$$tHeinrich von Kleist.$$dRochester, N.Y. : Camden House, 2011$$z9781571135186$$w(DLC) 2011025780$$w(OCoLC)709669439 000452969 830_0 $$aStudies in German literature, linguistics, and culture (Unnumbered) 000452969 8520_ $$bacq 000452969 85280 $$bebk$$hEbrary 000452969 85640 $$3ProQuest Ebook Central$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://ebookcentral.proquest.com/lib/usiricelib-ebooks/detail.action?docID=797557$$zOnline Access 000452969 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:452969$$pGLOBAL_SET 000452969 980__ $$aEBOOK 000452969 980__ $$aBIB 000452969 982__ $$aEbook 000452969 983__ $$aOnline
