Together with variety of other articles concerning the duty of a constable; the whole containing such ample Instructions that, if attended to, he cannot incur any Penalty or Censure in the Execution of his troublesome and perilous Office; the Constable being chosen and removed annually, it is not to be supposed that he can, in the Course of one Year, obtain a sufficient Knowledge of his duty, without such a Monitor. A Work also necessary to be consulted by the Public in general, as a Check to those Constables, who, either from Ignorance or Design, exceed the Power they are invested with.
