Issued annually in 14 parts, each part consisting of an engraved list of subscribers, and 24 plates.
At bottom of title page: Advertisement. The kind reception the Author has been favour'd wch. in this his first Attempt, encouraging him to proceed hipurposes annually to obligeye lovers of Perspective & Antiquity wth. a Collection of XXIV Views of the most remarkable Ruins of Abbeys and Castles now remaining in one or two Countries, till the whole be gone thro. All the Original Dravings to be taken upon the spot & carefully Engraven by his own hand in the Performance of wch. he hopes to make such Improvemnts. as will be acceptble. & pleasing to ye Curious, wch. is his utmost Desire & Ambition. N.B. Twelve Drawings are already taken in Lincolnshire & Nothinghamshire, which Counties are design'd to furnish the next Collection and will by the Author be compleated with all imaginable accuracy and Dispatch.
Each part except the final one is dated on the subscribers list, and the date of the final part is taken from the plates.
The imprint is taken from the first subscribers list.
The 'Proposals for publishing by subscription a collection of twenty four perspective views' was issued in January 1724.
