The number of ascending and descending lines are duly proportioned to each other and the rules for writing and contracting are few plain and familiar. To which is annexed, a short-hand character for expressing musical or inarticulate sounds without the use of ruled lines; by Holdsworth and Aldridge of the Bank of England.
